The Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee

Debbie and I went with Wade and Jake to the beautiful Peabody Hotel in Memphis on the semi-annual TN Road Builders Convention.  This is the Hotel famous for the ducks that live at the Hotel and everyday walk from the roof to the fountain in the gorgeous lobby, where they stay for the day and then walk back to the roof!  Pretty cute!  Debbie and I had a really fun time shopping and made some great bargains!  It made me think of when I use to shop with my mom.  We always had so much fun together, it was a joy for me to share this time with Debbie.  Jake was truly blessed with her!

Rikiya moves on to big people food!

Rikiya just wouldn't eat her baby food so I gave her a bowl of spaghetti and she wanted to feed herself, so I let her!  She loved the spaghetti and her new Independence.  She is walking at 9 months old.  Sweet girl!

Boon, Tennessee Visit

The following day, Wade and I drove to meet my brother, Mikel and his wife, Carol, and son Dane, and my sister, Cindy, her son, Mike, and daughter Lorissa, and her friend Carol.  We went gem mining.  We had the greatest time, and it was wonderful to see my brother and sister again.  I am not sure how long it had been since I had seen my brother.  It was good to hug him!   It was beautiful there, way out in the country!  Although it was extremely difficult to leave them, not knowing when we shall meet again.  I pray it will not be too long.  The moments together were precious.

Caleb and Braeden learning to drive in his new jeep!

There are few things more beautiful and special than when cousins and family gather to love each other!  Thank you Lord for our friends and family.

A Busy Summer!

Wow, I can hardly keep up with it all!  After Sonoma, we had Braeden's 3 year old Birthday pool party!  Cousins and friends had great fun!  I believe Braeden felt loved by his family.

After the parade we moved from the "Lodge" to the "Fairmont Mission Inn Spa." Beautiful! We had masages at the spa, then one of the most amazing, sensualy delicious nine course meals of our life at the four star restaurant at the hotel! A beautiful 4th of July, 2009. Happy aniversary to us!

4th of July Celebration!

Today is our 19th wedding anniversary! God is merciful and so very good to us! We started out the morning with breakfast at a cafe on the square in Sonoma, then joined the entire town and visitors from all around to watch the sweetest home town parade. As someone put it, "Half the town is in the parade, and the other half is watching it! It was a real blast from the past! It was a lot of fun!

More from Sonoma

Hello from Sonoma, California!

Wade and I flew into SanFrancisco, California. Then drove up to Sonoma, near Napa. Sonoma is a cute little town, with little shops, wonderful food and really friendly people. The people are very casual. We had a great 1st day shopping the square, and dinning at Wade's favorite, the Culinary Institute of America! Awesome! Then a curvy drive thru the mountains to get back to Sonoma. We are having a great time!

Thursday was a beautiful sunshiny day.  We started construction on our new back patio.  They got it all prepared, then poured the deck today, (Friday).  Braeden loves Bob the builder so he was thrilled to get to climb into the bulldozer!  Later, Jake dropped by with Davy for a swim!  I love when cousins get together.

Braeden and Rikiya are a joy of my life.  I am so thankful that I get to spend time with them, and have the opportunity to watch them grow.  There is nothing more beautiful than a peaceful and happy child.  I pray that they grow into strong and brave children of Christ, knowing his love, protection and his joy.  How I love them.

Last month we took the kids to the movies to see "Earth" by National Geographic.  It was Awesome!  The next movie we took them to was "Up".  Everyone loved it!  I will  buy it when it comes out on DVD!

Father's Day

I don't like Father's Day.  It is too sad.  But the Lord was so sweet to me this morning by helping me find a scripture I had wanted to find.  He just kind of embraced me and showed me His love, so sweetly, letting me know how He cares for me.  I am His daughter and He is my Father.

What a group of wild adventurers!  We survived the white waters of the raging river, friends forever.  Nothing can hold us back now!  No telling what we will do next!  Don't even try to guess, 'cause we don't even know!

There is definitely one thing we all agree on, Our God is GOOD!

Thank you Lord for your mercy and grace you cover us with, even when we do not deserve it!  Like on the way back when Wade was so stoked, he was driving a bit too fast, (ok a big bit too fast), and we got stopped by the police, (again).  I prayed for the Lord to have mercy and grace on us and to let the police man to be nice and not mean.   He was.  We had a nice chat with the whole car load, Suzanne almost had a hot date, and we were on our way with a polite warning and a smile.  Like I said,  Our God is GOOD!  Thank you Lord for a fun, safe day!

Wow! What a Day!

Wade and I, Kelly and Suzanne, went white water rafting on the Ocooe River today with the young adult Strive group from church.  Keven O'Dea was our leader, there were 21 of us, and we had a riot!  Kelly and Keven, and several others had never been rafting before.  The weather was hot and sunny, and the water was refreshing and cool.  The perfect combination.  We all had so much fun!  (except on the first good rapids when I was almost impaled on my hinnie with the handle of someone's paddle handle!!!  Ouch!  Everyone except me wanted to flip the boat, so the guide, Steven, abliged them!  I believe three peoples helmets smashed into my head and face as we were thrown from the boat and plunged into the water!!!  It was sort of like when I flipped and crashed my miada . . . except with a lot of water!  I am still having flashbacks!  Everyone loved it and Keven and Kelly have stories to tell their children and grandchildren!
